Geometric Art Maker 2.1

Geometric Art Maker is a simple but capable online tool for creating and manipulating geometric shapes with an emphasis on incorporating randomization into the creative process.

Because of its (mostly) intuitive mouse and keyboard controls, Geometric Art Maker works best on desktop computers.

The shape generation system can produce random shapes on demand (default) or specific varieties of shapes determined by the user.

The novel toolset enables various fun and unique ways to manipulate shapes, including merging two shapes into a single shape or slicing up the entire composition into new shapes using the grid system.

A color palette system that can generate random color palettes, save and load color palettes as text files, produce gradient (or ombre palettes) by selecting two colors and clicking 'blend', and extract a specified number of colors automatically from the dominant color of uploaded image files.

Your creations can be exported as massive raster images, infinitely scalable SVG vector graphics, or .txt format project files that can be loaded later.

I originally wrote this program for personal use. My intention was to use it as a tool for laying out painting compositions. Then I started using it for producing wallpaper designs. Ultimately, it can be used for a lot of things, including creating abstract art, geometric patterns, and even t-shirt designs, but it's also just a fun thing to toy around with. I'm not a naturally gifted programmer, so this was a real labor of love. There are probably a fair amount of bugs. If you end up using it often and a bug starts to really piss you off, please send an email to [email protected], and I'll see if I can't figure it out for you.
